Glarsmiðjan is an art shop in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.

We sell paintings, lithographs, watercolours, graphics, and posters by Faroese artists and other artists connected to the Faroe Islands.”

We also sell paintings on behalf of private clients.

If you’ve inherited a painting, we can appraise it, clean it, and sell it for you.”

Anders Randrup Jonassen is the owner of Glarsmiðjan. He is a trained master glazier. He completed his apprenticeship in 1981 at Denmark’s oldest art shop, Anker Nielsen & Søn in Vejle, which carried out restoration work for the Bruun Rasmussen art auction house.

AJ moved with his Faroese wife to Tórshavn in 1995 and took over Glarsmiðjan in 1998.

After that, Glarsmiðjan also became an art shop.
Moved to Doktara Jakobsens gøtu in 2006

We repair and frame paintings as well as anything else that needs framing.
